Still Recruiting...
I've only had two people apply so far! I want to have a
bout 5 or 6 before I chose someone. We NEED a couple of really good mappers! So start
applying people, we need you! [EleCtRiC]

Recruiting once again
Ok, Red Knights taking about a week off here to get
some other projects finished. I've been looking at our staff and it seems like half the
new members we've gotten over the past couple of months have mysteriously disappeared...
Most of them were levelers too. So, as of now we are looking for a couple new levelers. We
do NOT want someone who is going to join the team, start a level, get bored of it and
leave, like many of our previous members have done. We want someone that will take time
out of their every day lives to contribute some quality work to the TC and will Not quit!
We want only the best, not someone that is just learning to level and decides they'd like
to join some team for the fun of it. Sorry if this sounds a little cruel but we have had
bad experiences in the past with quitters. If you are a leveler that has lots of free time
on his/her hands and are good at what you do, just mail me with a couple screenshots of
your work. Do not mail me an entire level though, I will give you permission to do that
after reviewing your work with the team and talking with you.
For now, levelers are all we will be recruiting, though we may be looking for some other people in the near future.[EleCtRiC]

Alive!
Hmm, I seem to be saying that a lot lately. Well the
important thing is I'm back updating the web site, and I'm soon going to have a lot of
extra time to devote to SWQ. For now, I just received word from ViolentBlue that the
X-Wing cockpit is finished, and he's going to be devoting the rest of his time to
completing the T-16. I've got a few more things to get in order the next couple days, then
I'll try and update at least once a day. Oh, and I suggest you all go try this game called
"Unreal" :) Quite entertaining. [Red Knight]

Incom T-16 "Skyhopper"
I'm still working on the x-wing cockpit and I'm waiting
for the thermal detonator to be skinned, but as an exercise I've been working on a T-16
"skyhopper". the mesh is finished, and only needs animating and skin. But this
may or may not make it into the TC its all dependent on whether it has a place, and if it
enhances gameplay. [ViolentBlue]

Another Snowspeeder Update
ViolentBlue has completed the in-cockpit view for the
Snowspeeder, which has also been sent off for skinning. He's now starting on the cockpit
for the X-Wing, and the thermal detonator. [Red Knight]

Site Stuff
In case you missed it yesterday, I threw together a
backstory for the TC and posted it. I hope to get a chance to refine it later, as it might
not sound so great considering I wrote it sometime around midnight Friday :)

Snowspeeder Update
ViolentBlue has completed the Snowspeeder, and sent it
off to Thump for skinning. He's now started on the v_model (in-cockpit view) for the
vehicle, which you can find a preliminary shot of on his new .PP [Red Knight]
Rantings
Since I never get a chance to update my .PP any more, I
thought I'd just mention this. Have you noticed how the size of demos is increasing
drastically? Take the new release of MechCommander
(which is a very awesome game, BTW). 116mg! Who would ever download that? Well ok, so I
did, but I'm crazy. Of course, if you all enjoy overnight downloads for
days, then I suppose including .cin files is a viable option... [Red Knight]

MEGA-Update
Woohoo! Finally! The whole site has been updated with
current info, and generally cleaned up some. Now on to the good stuff! [Red Knight]
New Member
I'd like to welcome ViolentBlue to the SWQ family. He's
already nearly completed the Snowspeeder (which I know you're all looking forward to
piloting). Here's a shot he sent me. [Red Knight]

Force Forum Open
Made some quick recaps in The Force forum on the
bulletin board, so feel free to post there now. [Red Knight]
New SGM
Legion, always working on the AI, released SGM version 1.1.00. There's also
several new route files, and an experimental file utilizing velocity-based movement. This
allows the enemies to jump, swim, and maneuver over broken ground. Be warned, the
experimental file is very CPU intensive, and a P200 is recommended at a
minimum. [Red Knight]
New Weapons
falkon2 has redone the Blaster Rifle for Q2, as well as
completing the Blaster Pistol. Here's two quick shots (skins forthcoming). [Red Knight]

Status Report
Here's the latest status breakdown: [Red Knight]
Models
- falkon2 is starting on the new lightsabers and updating the Bith model.
- MerIDiaN is putting the last touches on the TIE's and continuing work on the walkers and
player model.
- Deadguy is starting on the new Stormtrooper model.
Levels
- Very early work started on Ionus V
- Electric has finished a LOT of textures up this past week.
Coding
- Drywall continues to work on the PHIL scope.
- Legion, as always, is making great strides in AI.
- Mr. Pink was last known to be finishing up the Jawa, but we haven't heard from him in
some time :(
Graphics
- Colfax should be finishing up the new menus as you read this.
Survey Question
Something I'd like some feedback on. I've been trying
to consider just how to go about presenting the progress of the storyline. .cin files
would be the preferred method, but the download time would be waaay too long, even on the
fastest connection. .dm2's would be all right for the major plot events, but there's a lot
of quick stuff that happens too. So my question is: would it be acceptable to display a
text description of what happened after certain missions are fulfilled, saving really
important events for .dm2's? [Red Knight]

The Force is with us!
Red Knight has been pretty busy with Real Life issues
lately but has finally updated the Force section of the Bulletin Board. You're all
formally invited to read through the posts and add your ideas to those listed.
Don't worry, Red's still going to handle the News page, I just wanted to fill-in until he got a chance to update. [Deadguy]

Quick Update
Still hoping for a mega-update this weekend. But for
now, as has been said "it's time for plain speaking". I'm happy to formally
announce what has been unoffical for some time: Deadguy has been made a full member of the
SWQ team. He will serve mostly to moderate the message boards, but will also donate his
vast knowledge to the team. Welcome aboard! [Red Knight]

NOT Dead
Once again, I apologize for Real Life preventing me
from updating. I hope to have a massive update this weekend, as well as finally posting
the TC Toolbox. Also, I did update the BBoard, and will continue to do so. Just don't
expect another news update until the weekend. Until then. [Red Knight]
