Update
Another summary of what's been going on:

Levels:
Tim linked the Star Destroyer unit together for us in his last build, it's moving closer and closer to final. Grey Knight is modifying the Council Chamber based on the clip in the recently-released Episode I trailer and making the push to finish the Coruscant street level before plunging into the Intel Center and Thalkos. Avalanche continues to work on Ionus' Defense Base, and the Academy has been labeled as complete with the exception of some specialized bystanders.

Models:
falkon2 is working to make any last-minute changes to the weapons before they go in, as well as touching up the Officer's animations, ViolentBlue is finishing up Thalkos' birds, and Privateer is finishing up the smuggler model and adding in Coruscant's rats.

Code:
CaRRaC is back from vacation and in the team's clutches once more. These last couple days have seen the introduction of rain/thunderstorm entities and dynamic darkness, which should be useful for some of the more evil Dark Side powers. He's also begun some initial work on the lightsaber while juggling all the entities that need to be put into levels and the other "quickie assignments" I've set upon him. Lord Brutish and I continue to hack out the details for the Force system.

Keep watching for more info from our camp. Now here's your dose of screenshot, this one from the Ionus defense base. [Red Knight]

Shadows of the Past
Since I haven't been receiving many responses lately, I'd just like to recap the available positions on the SWQ team (note that SWQ is a non-commercial TC):

If you're interested in any of these positions, please email me with a sample of your work, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. [Red Knight]

BBoard Fixed
Go forth and post once more. [Red Knight]

Technical Difficulties
As you're probably already aware, the BBoard is currently down. I just wanted to let you know that this is not intentional, and the board will be back up as soon as we can locate the problem. [Red Knight]

The Release Date
After careful evaluation of Star Wars Quake: The Call of the Force's current status, I've made the decision to push the final release back from Christmas to the first quarter of next year. The reason for this is simple: I won't release crap, and crap is what we'll end up with if we rush to complete all the levels by Christmas. HOWEVER, every other element of SWQ besides the later single-play levels and multiplayer additions *will* be complete by Christmas, and there *will* be a release at Christmas, it simply won't be the final. What you'll get will be a sort of "demo" of SWQ, with all the features enabled, but only the first few single-play levels, and none of the planned multiplayer additions. While the levels dept. works to finish the rest of the single-play levels during the first quarter, the rest of the team will be adding in the multiplayer features and continue to refine the entire TC to the point where anything else we did "would just screw it up". When the remaining levels are complete, the final release will be posted, followed by the "developers toolkit" a few days later, which will allow for planetary plug-ins and the like to be added to the non-linear campaign. [Red Knight]

Update
Just making a quick update with regards to the latest developments, and boy have we been busy.

Levels:
Tim is working on the Star Destroyer as always, but the best part is that this monstrous level is actually coming close to completion! The Jedi Academy has a few modifications to make before it's complete, but as you can see from ViolentBlue's screenshots below, it's coming along nicely. Grey Knight has been hard at work getting the Coruscant levels out of the way, with the Council Chamber section nearly complete and the Intel Center already laid out on paper. We also had a long discussion about the look of Thalkos, which is going to be a beauty to behold.

Models:
Privateer has been throwing himself at completing the player and base bystander models, he's also trying to crank out a couple of enemies before Real Life pulls him under once more. falkon2 is putting the finishing touches on the Imperial Officer, and NateDog is finishing up the rest of the weapon models, with the exception of the lightsaber (which we'll be doing some experimentation with).

Code:
CaRRaC is doing wonders with the time he has. legion's AI code is beginning to take hold once more, the extra Jawa bystander "types" are nearly finished with the exception of a couple issues that need addressing, and some of the SWQ wildlife is beginning to pop up as well. Finally, Lord Brutish is continuing with the Force system code, which we're taking pains to be sure is done right.

All in all, I'm very pleased with progress so far this week. [Red Knight]

Misc.
In case you missed it (or if you even care), the RPG Return to Krondor went gold today. Don't know about you, but I've been looking forward to this one. Also, I've been working on cleaning up the FAQ, it's just taking a while (SWQ development before all else, remember). Even updated my .PP with the sentiment I think we've all been feeling lately. [Red Knight]

Levels coming Along
Well we've been putting in a lot of time lately. My Academy map is almost finished, it just a matter of piecing some stuff together now. As many have noticed, My .plan has been down for a while, due to some problems with my ISP (they forgot I was a paying customer and gave my user ID and email address to someone else, and erased my .pp in the process). Well that's fixed now but I have to totally redo my .pp. but that wont happen until I've got this map finished. [ViolentBlue]

Progress
First off, go check out Tim's .PP for the latest on the Star Destroyer and a couple new shots (two more below). Grey Knight and I have been discussing the look of the planet Thalkos, and I'm really starting to like the direction it's taking. ApocX is moving along with the DM levels which are shaping up nicely, Privateer is working on a new enemy (you won't see this one until the release), CaRRaC has updated the Stormtrooper with legion's advanced AI, while Lord Brutish continues to work on the Force system and the weather effects. [Red Knight]

Update
Just to let you know, things have still been flying right along here, we just don't want to share any of it with you yet :) However, since I haven't updated in a while, I figured you deserve a little something, so here's the list of weapons that will be in SWQ:

Now if you're saying "But what about [insert weapon name here]?!!", don't worry, there's a possibility other weapons could make it in later, but this is the "definite" list. If you've got any comments/suggestions, feel free to voice them on the BBoard. [Red Knight]

Site Updates
Ok, so I didn't get the site updated last week like I said I would, my apologies. However, I will make sure that RipVTide's FAQ is updated and made into the official FAQ as soon as possible. This will replace both the TC description and the current FAQ. The rest of the updates should be in early this week, barring any extreme demands of my time (like SWQ work, for example <g>). [Red Knight]
