| Would you like
to revisit Quake 2 but are tired of watching
players constantly slip and slide? Maybe they
seem to be squating more than is healthy; up
ladders, over the smallest bumps, when grappling
and piloting jetpacks of various kinds, or even
just scooting around awkwardly. The solution is
to upgrade to md2.5 and revel in the
Quake-3-esque goodness that is aiming, running
(without
skates), swimming,
(proper) crawling, weapon
switching, and turning. The list
doesn't end here however, if all goes well then
I'll include animations for things like: |
area specific pains
throwing
reloading
striking / punching
falling
idle (walking, standing, running, looking)
operating switches / devices
'hands up' (surrender, super jump)
sitting
etc
|
| Of course I'm
not terribly familiar with the Quake 2 code so
its up to you coders out there to support and
impliment this new scheme, I'll take care of the
modeling and animation. If you're interested in
helping then scope out the Research &
Development section and please do contact me. Or perhaps you're not
the programming type and only came because of the
promised eye candy, head over to the Gallery and enjoy the animated
gif-ness. There is more information available in
the text file included with the alpha release (521K). |
